Position Overview: We are thrilled to offer a summer internship opportunity for passionate individuals eager to dive into the world of organic farming. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in all aspects of our farm operations, from planting and harvesting to customer engagement and sustainable agriculture practices. This position is seasonal, with the potential for a full time opportunity.
Responsibilities:
-Assist with planting, weeding, and harvesting a diverse range of organic fruits and vegetables.
-Participate in farm shop operations, including stocking shelves, assisting customers, and managing transactions.
-Engage with customers at farmers markets, promoting our farm's produce and building relationships within the community.
-Contribute to the organization and distribution of CSA shares, ensuring members receive fresh, high-quality produce each week.
-Assist with farm maintenance tasks, such as irrigation, composting, and equipment upkeep.
-Learn about and implement sustainable farming practices, including soil health management and pest control methods.
Qualifications:
-Enthusiasm for organic farming and a passion for sustainable agriculture.
-Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physical tasks in various weather conditions.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
-Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
-Previous farming or gardening experience is preferred but not required.
